Tinklefest™ Achievements, part 2 - solo quests

Okay, here are the solo quests that you need to do if you want to gain Exalted status with the Tinkle Brothers Circus. Without further delay:

Quest the First: For the Alliance, solo style. 100 achievement points

Who needs a raid to handle Thrall, ruler of Orgrimmar? You will march (or ride, or stealth) into Orgrimmar and face the Orc Warchief, Thrall. While there, you have two choices. The first choice is to attack him. You MUST land at least one hit on Thrall for the achievement to count. You're there to tell him you mean business, after all!

Your second option is to /hug to tell him, "You know, Thrall, we've had our differences. On one hand, you're a filthy, disgusting, Alliance-murdering fiend, and your very presence sickens me greatly, but on the other hand, there's no problem that a little hugging-out won't fix."

Either way, this quest is doable for the warmongers and the pacifists scattered throughout the Circus. Screenshot is required.

Quest the Second: Living Well is Good Revenge, but… , 100 achievement points

Think hard about this one. Was there a single time (in the PvE setting) in this game where you were completely frustrated at something? Maybe it was dying repeatedly in the caves of the Deadmines. Maybe it was trying to get a drop off of a certain mob for hours before it finally did. Maybe it was a wandering elite that you mistakenly took for a normal mob, only to find it slaughter you in seconds, bestowing upon you the Corpse Walk of Shame. Anyway, the way to rectify the humiliation that you felt so long ago is to go back and kill whoever or whatever gave you such a hard time in the first place! Be it slaughtering yetis in Dun Morogh or Durn the Hungerer in Nagrand, go forth and claim your revenge! Screenshot and a brief explanation are required.

Quest the Third: A Little Bit O' PvP, 100 Achievement points

Is there a Horde class that really, really, gets your goat? Tired of being sapped by a rogue? Pulled by a death knight? Sat helplessly as a blood elf pally bubble healed himself to full? Didn't know which of the seventy-eight mirror images of the mage was the real one until it was too late? Your task is to go out and beat your arch-rival class, 1v1. Wintergrasp will probably be a sucky place to do this since they'll most likely have the tenacity buff. You need to not only defeat this class in a fair fight, but you also need to /spit on its corpse! Yes, this achievement is not for the nice – go out and, for at least a moment, reclaim your awesomeness in a most killy and rude fashion. A duel will also suffice, but remember that it only counts if you /spit on the person you defeated! Good luck and happy hunting. Screenshot of victory required.

Tinklefest™ Achievements, part 1 - group quests

Saddle up, boys and girls, and prepare for your march towards Exalted rep with the Tinkle Brothers Circus!

This is the first in a three-part Tinklefest series that outlines what you need to do to earn Exalted rep with the guild.

Why be Exalted? Good question. First of all, you will bask in the warmth as your fellow guildmates stare reverently at you. Secondly, the quests are meant to be fun, and you should have a hoot doing each and every one of them (well, maybe not ALL of them, but to each his own). Lastly, wealth and fame will be showered down upon all who complete the arduous journey laid out before you.

What does it take to be Exalted with the TBC? Another good question. There are three group quests (named here in Part I) and three solo quests (explained in Part II) that need to be run, plus two tasks (Part III) tacked on that aren't exactly quests, but will require a small bit of your time nonetheless. Anyone who accumulates 700 TBC achievement points becomes exalted with ONE toon currently in the guild. Near the end of August, we will pick a date where all toons that participated in Tinklefest™ in some way will get together in Ironforge for some drunken revelry, dwarf-style. Never know, you just might get lucky with Myra Tyrngaarde!

For this first installment, I'll outline the three group quests needed, with accompanying achievement points.

Quest the First: Heroic Violet Hold, with a twist. 100 achievement points

The description says it all. If you ain't swervin', you ain't, um, earnin'? And in the advent that I be accused of promoting alcoholism, let it be known that your TOON needs to be in a constant state of drunkenness, not you personally (although that's optional).

Quest the Second: Regular Lich King dungeon, in "new" gear. 100 achievement points

We will reserve a bank tab for people to put gray items in, so we can build a reserve of items that others can use. You will be gear checked in the instance! Just kidding (but you will).

Quest the Third: 75+ dungeon, healer free. 100 achievement points

The quest text kinda says it all. No healing spells whatsoever. Anyone throws a healing spell, and you reset and start over! The qualifying instances are Drak-Tharon Keep, Gundrak, Halls of Stone, Halls of Lightning, Oculus, Caverns of Time: Culling of Stratholme and Utgarde Pinnacle.

Preparing for Tinklefest™

Howdy folks! We need to be ready for the challenges of Tinklefest™ 2009. There is nothing to truly prepare for as far as gearing up your toon or anything. I'm talking about being ready to take part in the various activities scattered throughout August. First of all, you will need to know how to take a screen shot of your computer. I can't discuss the PC world since I use a Mac (on a Mac it's shift + command + 3 for a screenie), but I have seen keyboards with a dedicated key for taking a screen shot. I think it's a prt scn button or something (short for print screen). What makes a good screen shot, you ask? Good question:

1) Hide the user interface in WoW. On a Mac, this is done with option + z. On a PC it's alt + z. If you don't hide the interface before a screen shot, you'll see all of the UI mods and scrolling text and action bars and whatnot, which all cover the image that you're trying to capture!

2) Zoom in/out and switch camera angles for the best shot. This is similar to a photographer moving around to get the best shot. Keep in mind that WoW is exceptionally well lit with shadows and light sources, so use that to your best advantage.

3) Make sure you can see the image clearly. If you're zoomed out at too wide an angle, what you're trying to show the rest of us may not be clear or discernible.

4) You might want to take multiple screen captures of something, at different zooms, angles, or poses. I take anywhere between 5-10 when I want a screen capture, unless it's just something trivial that I need to remember, or if it's something that there's really only one way to capture it in the first place. The better the image, the better you're going to get your image across.

5) The screen capture saves an image of your entire screen. There are tons of programs that let you open up the screen shot and crop it.

Welcome, Tinkle Brothers and Sisters, to the Tinkle Brothers Circus Tinkleblog. The official guild blog is here just in time for the guild's 3rd anniversary. In honor of our fantastic guild we are celebrating Tinklefest™ throughout August, complete with guild get-togethers and fun times. What would a WoW holiday be without achievements, right? Well, in the spirit of the game we are offering a chance to become Exalted with the Tinkle Brothers Circus. You will be able to earn Tinkle Brothers rep by completing achievements, participating in guild activities, and taking part in what is to become a legendary anniversary. Don't have much time? That's no problem, because there will be multiple opportunities to earn every achievement necessary to become exalted with the best damn guild in the whole world…of Warcraft.

In the next few days I will list in great detail the upcoming events and achievements for the entire Tinklefest™ celebration.
